As you can plainly see I am still here. It has something to do with mapping I think? But the other site should be up and going by the first of next week at the latest. My friend Johnny Brooks is a computer geek and is doing all the work, so I am sure it will be done right.

Johnny will be presenting the mission God has given him at Rockport Christian Fellowship at 11:00 AM on Oct. 12th, 2008. If you are in the area please try and see Johnny before he leaves the area.

Eureka!!! Johnny has just reported in and I can now post on the new site. Oh I’m excited!!! Here’s the site babulonnie.com

Going to new site.

You will be able to enjoy and not so much enjoy the same wit and wisdom as you find here at another location very soon. As you may or may not know this site is free and it has served me well for the last several months. I am however beginning to have growing pains as far as what I feel the Lord wants me to do and the way He wants me to present it and this site has some limits. The new site will have the same name as this one…S.O.S. A Follower Of Jesus but you get to it at babulonnie.com The site is still under construction but should be up and running in the next day or so. Please bookmark or add this link to your favorites or reader. I will continue to use this site for a sufficient period as to allow any readers to make the move with me. Hope this doesn’t pose to much of an inconvenience for you. The new site will allow me to do so many things that will enhance the blog. I am told I’ll be able to archive all of this sites absolutley right on, wise, all knowing little tid bits to the new site, so all is well and Wisdomville will be spared total destruction. My new site is an extension of my friends Johnny & Kate Brooks who have a site called purechristianity.blogs.com I am looking forward to the all possibilities in the new location. Stay tuned to this site till further notice and offical directions to my new home. Hope to see ya there.

Displaying another Kingdom

My friend Johnny Brooks from Kenya has been here at our house since Thursday evening and we’ve just hung out, talked and atoct-5th-2008-006.JPGe American food. This morning at our local gathering Johnny will do his first mission presentation and I can hardly wait. You may or may not know but Johnny is originally from Texas and the area that most of their financial support is located happens to be the area that has been hit by recent hurricanes. Needless to say it has taken it’s toll on some of the ability to support the ever present needs of the ministry in Kenya. At a time when opportunities are presenting themselves and doors are opening for expanding ministry Johnny has come to the states to bolster and raise more support for the work with orphans, unwed girls who are pregnant, the elderly and the dying. As you can see it is not a glamorous crowd or meeting oriented ministry but it is a people effort that is touching lives on a personal level. I am at an advantage over all the readers of this blog, except some of those in Kenya, I have been to Johnny and Kate’s home and witnessed with my own eyes what they do and I will tell you that it is the Body of Christ in action. It is lives being lived not for themselves but for those who have no one to love or care for them. They do not run an orphanage, they have a home for orphans. They do not talk about visiting the sick and the dying, they go. They do not protest for social change and picket the injustices they roll up their sleeves and jump in the middle of the needs and supply whatever they can to display the love of God. I know we are being told how bad our economy is at this present time but that has nothing to do with God’s economy. I am not concerned with what the news media is saying but I am concerned with what scripture is saying. James 1:27 The religion which is holy and free from evil in the eyes of our God and Father is this: to take care of children who have no fathers and of widows who are in trouble, and to keep oneself untouched by the world. We are to display a Kingdom that is not of this world and Proverbs 19:17 ¶ He who has pity on the poor gives to the Lord, and the Lord will give him his reward. As I said God’s economy is not struggling and the way He repays is priceless. If you are ready to get involved in ministry that is making a difference one life at a time please contact me and we’ll see you get an opportunity to be a part of this ministry. Any correspondence can be sent to Kenya Fund 713 West First Street Beaver Dam, KY. 42320 or through this blog or Johnny & Kate’s blog call “Pure Christianity” which is listed in my links. Johnny would like to meet as many people as possible while he is in the U.S. For an appointment use the above noted contact information.

Just Thinking

1 1 Comment »

I am convinced that if someone I loved was ill and possibly on the brink of death, after I prayed I would search for the best doctor I could possibly find. I would want someone who was capable, experienced and well trained. It is no different with my country, The United? States of America. She is ill and on the brink of collapse according to those who are supposed to know. I am told that well over half of the U.S. claims to be “Christian”. If that is the case we need to put someone in power that is going to give the government back to the people. If and when that happens we (Christians) will be the majority and will be able to make laws and have rule over our fellow countrymen. After all that appears to be what we really want. We don’t seem to be interested in what’s best for our country, only what’s best for our political or religious tribe. In the above scenario about the doctor most of us Christians would not concern ourselves with whether our “good” doctor was of our same political or religious background or not. We would just want a good doctor to fix the problem. May I suggest we stop listening to all the slurs and slams and search out what is really best for our country at this point in history. My friend Danny Brooks wrote a song that one of the lines says “You won’t go wrong doin’ right”. Search for what is right and best for our country and just do it…oh buy the way right usually cost you something. I am growing weary of all the religious rhetoric and the political bantering because neither contain much truth lately. Why don’t we try that “Of the people for the people and by the people” government, think maybe “we” can fix it? “They” haven’t and “They” ain’t going to.

Politics

1 4 Comments »

I am about to show my ignorance…again. But this time it is in the field of politics. I learned what I am about to share only minutes ago from a friend who don’t even live in this country. It is sad when the candidates with the most money are the only ones you hear from. That right off the bat seems to go against the supposed good old American way of equality. Money is all that matters in the scheme that our system has laid out. There is an old saying that money talks and B.S. walks. I think maybe we had that wrong, it’s the B.S. that is talking cause they got the money to build a platform from which to talk. I think the democratic and republican parties are simply politically incestuous and have no plan of having a productive relationship with anybody outside their group. Well they learned that from the so called American church. (Sorry I digress). I have just read the beliefs of a third candidate that is so much closer to what I believe than either of the two “major” candidates. I am sad to report that before this morning I had never heard of this man and his campaign. Unless he is like most other politicians and intends to just put it to us after he’s elected, he is at least saying some credible things on all the major issues facing America today. I am stepping out of the political boat of traditionalism and voting what’s right even if, (God forbid), it cost me something. While I’m at it I think I’ll just go ahead and jump out of the traditional boat of religion while I’m able. It is from our platform of “religion” that we have displayed this false path for our government to follow. Every problem in our country is simply a magnification of the problems of the church. We have been the leaders of our country and look where we’ve led. All along the Spirit of God has been crying out for His rightful position to “draw” all men to Christ but we over ride Him and take our leadership positions. We have led the church and now the nation down a path of economics, false liberties, and entitlements that cannot sustain us. Both of the ‘major” candidates are talking change but offering none. I am suggesting that we, blood bought born again children of God, followers of Christ be led to the right man for the job. Remember what that job is? Being the human head of our government and protector of the rights and privileges afforded us as Americans. I don’t know what religious affiliation the candidate I am voting for has, if any. But I am voting for what I am convinced will be best for our country and I believe this candidate will put more government back where it belongs…in the hands of the people. And it is “us” that is ultimately responsible for seeing that things are changed. Question is do we really want to assume our responsibilities or do we want to keep pawning it off on our government. We have in the past voted on people who professed to be with “us” and left “us” hanging. Let’s return the favor and leave them hanging, maybe it’s their turn to get out and look for jobs, oh wait I forget they get paid well the rest of their lives for screwing us for just a short while. Talk about a corporate golden parachute. Well enough of that. By the way I’m voting the Barr & Root ticket in 08′. Take a look for yourself at the web site of Bob Barr, you decide.

Babu Heard The Blues

1 1 Comment »

lil-rick-danny-014.JPGI mentioned last post that Danny Brooks was coming to do a concert for us. He came and he has left but won’t be forgotten. He is an unusual gospel musician to say the least but not every body’s cup of tea. But if you love the gospel, the truth and reality of life coupled with a musical style called the blues he is “the man”. I had the privilege of spending time with him and unlike a lot of musicians that try to get in the church he’s trying to go out. Let me explain. God has given him ministry to the clubs, bars and other areas the church have considered tabu. I like him because like life and the blues he is real. As a former chaplain at the Kentucky State Penitentiary I had the opportunity to take him there for a visit where he did two concerts, one for general population and one for death row. All that is well and good but what made the weekend complete is what happened as he was preparing to move on and do a radio gig with Greg Martin of the Kentucky Headhunters. He took time to go with me to visit one of the best gituar pickers I personally know. My friend Lil’ Rick is a great musican. While playing a gig near Nashville a couple weeks ago Lil’ Rick had a seizure. After being taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center he was diagnoised with three cancerous tumors on his brian, cancer in his lungs and in his bones. Today I had the pleasure of hearing Danny and Lil’ Rick jam on his back porch, and quite honestly it was as good as any concert I’ve ever attended. They played, I listened and we prayed and cried together, not tears of sorry but tears of joy. It was an awesome time of ministry, music and His Majesty. It was a gathering of men of God I will never forget. I beleive in miracles!!! God can provide a table in the wilderness. Pray for Lil’ Rick.

One week from today my friend from Kenya will be arriving and tomorrow my friend from Canada will be coming in. It seems I am having to import friends from other countries lately. I am like a kid in a candy store with excitement. I can’t wait to hear the messages they’ve brought from our Father. I hope I will be able to share these friends with as many people as possible while they are with me. My Canadian friend will only be with me through Monday the 29th of Sept. and he has to move on down the road to Texas I think. My Kenyan friend who is actually a Texan will be with me for as long as I can keep him, he has no vehicle and is at my mercy. If you are anywhere close to Beaver Dam, Kentucky I  want you to meet my friends. One of them is a singer, song writer, musician and author the other is a full time missionary to Kenya East Africa, they both have a message…“Come and See”. I’ll be posting updates about these men and the ministry they are involved with in days to come. Here are their web sites.  http://www.dannybrooksmusic.com/ and http://www.purechristianity.blogs.com/ Thanks for taking time to look and hear for yourself.
